CONDITION: IT’S IN SUPERB CONDITION THROUGHOUT

THIS IS A EDWARDIAN ANTIQUE LOCKET OF NEAT PREPORTIONS, IDEAL TO WEAR EACH AND EVERY DAY TO KEEP THOSE CHERISHED PICTURES ALWAYS CLOSEBY. AN ‘EYE CATCHING’ ITEM OF ANTIQUE JEWELLERY (See 5 Pence set in inset picture for comparisons).

The front of the locket has banded vertical patterning, to the centre is a vacant round cartouche. At all four quadrants the locket has sloping away edges giving a discreet cross effect to the locket design. We have a pretty scroll top with a gold top holding ring with an aperture of 4 mm. The reverse of the locket follows the same format except there is no cartouche but here are the gold markings for 9ct Back & Front.   

This locket is that lovely mellow rose gold only found in jewellery items from the years bordering the turning of the last century (not today's brash pink rose gold). We have carefully ‘check tested’ the piece and confirm it is '9ct Gold Back & Front' category. 

(9ct Back & Front is a locket category where the front and back panels are of solid 9ct gold, and check tested here, the internal frame and rims are not gold. This method of construction was used primarily to achieve greater strength and durability of the locket).

Yes, this locket is in excellent condition, no dints, indents, bumps or scratches, indeed no blemishes at all.

It will offer the new owner many more years safeguarding your most treasured keepsake or photographs. The hinge is sound and firm, the locket opens easily and shuts well with a reassuring “click”. Inside the locket has watered silk insets and Perspex covers, there are two pullout retaining rims to hold your pictures in place, one on each side. The locket is firm to the press being made of a thick gage of gold, there is no buckle effect at all when pressed.
