 THIS IMMACULATE LOCKET IS A SUPERB 'PIECE OF HISTORY' OVER 120 YEARS OLD, THE ANCHOR REPRESENTING 'HOPE' IN VICTORIAN TIMES.

DIMENSIONS: HEIGHT = 45 MM (INCLUDING TOP HOLDING RINGS) WIDTH AT WIDEST = 27 MM   DEPTH = 7 MM  WEIGHT = 13.4 GRAMS.

CONDITION: IT’S IN IMMACULATE CONDITION THROUGHOUT

THIS IS A VICTORIAN HI CARAT GOLD ANTIQUE LOCKET OF VERY GENEROUS PREPORTIONS, A REAL ‘EYE CATCHING’ ITEM OF ANTIQUE JEWELLERY (See 5 Pence set in inset picture for comparisons).

The front of the locket has a gold casting of an anchor, this anchor is set with 19 natural pearls of graduated sizes, twisted around the anchor is a rope, this is faced with royal blue enamel. The locket has a flat surfaced 15ct gold bail, this has an aperture of 4mm. The reverse of the locket is totally plain surfaced.  

This locket is solid 15ct gold throughout except for the retaining frames. As is the norm with 15ct gold jewellery from this period it is unmarked. As a precaution we have thoroughly 'check tested' the piece so as to safely guarantee this gold content description. The gold here is a rich yellow gold, typical of 15ct gold jewellery from this period.

Yes, this locket is in excellent condition, no dints, indents, bumps or scratches, indeed no blemishes at all. Just GORGEOUS THROUGHOUT. Enamel is perfect and pearls a well matched and 'shimmer' beautifully and appear securely set.

 (Pease note that any markings on this locket are due to reflection rather than a blemish or discolouration of the gold surface).

It will offer the new owner many more years safeguarding your most treasured keepsake or photographs. The hinge is sound and firm, the locket opens easily and shuts well with a reassuring “click”. Inside the locket has watered silk insets and Thick Perspex covers, there are two pullout retaining frames to hold your pictures in place, one on each side (Replace the fabric with your pictures). The locket is firm to the press being made of a thick gage of gold, there is no buckle effect at all when pressed.
