CONDITION: IT’S IN SUPERB CONDITION THROUGHOUT

THIS IS A PERIOD ANTIQUE LOCKET OF POPULAR SIZE, NOT TOO BIG OR TOO SMALL, IDEAL TO WEAR EACH AND EVERY DAY AND / OR SPECIAL ENOUGH TO KEEP JUST FOR THOSE CHERISHED OCCASIONS. A REAL ‘EYE CATCHING’ ITEM OF ANTIQUE JEWELLERY (See 5 Pence set in inset picture for comparisons).

This locket is round with the central area convexed in shape having leaf and flower engraving, to the centre is a vacant shield shaped cartouche, This central area has a raised banded pattern surround. The locket has a CHARMING  bow design top with a gold holding ring with an aperture of 5 mm. The reverse of the locket follows the same format except there is no cartouche, here we have the gold markings for 9ct gold Birmingham assayed in 1911 and maker's mark.   

This locket is that lovely mellow rose gold only found in jewellery items from the years bordering the turning of the last century (not today's brash pink rose gold).

Fully hallmarked for 9 carat gold, (9.375 to denote gold standard, Anchor for Birmingham assay office and low case date letter m'  for 1911)

THIS IS A FULLY AUTHENTICATED DATED PIECE OF JEWELLERY, A GOLD LOCKET OF 100 YEARS OLD AND IN EXCELLENT CONDITION TOO!!

Yes, this locket is in excellent condition, no dints, indents, bumps or scratches, indeed no blemishes at all.

 (Pease note that any markings on this locket are due to reflection rather than a blemish or discolouration of the gold surface).

It will offer the new owner many more years safeguarding your most treasured keepsake or photographs. The hinge is sound and firm, the locket opens easily and shuts well with a reassuring “click”. Inside the locket has watered silk insets and thick Perspex covers, there is one pullout retaining rim to the right hand side. The locket is firm to the press being made of a thick gage of gold, there is no buckle effect at all when pressed.
