CARNELIAN FACTS:

A form of chalcedony (itself a type of quartz), carnelian occurs in a range of colours from pale yellowish-orange through reddish-brown, to deep red, the blood red varieties being highly valued amongst the ancient peoples. The Ancient Egyptians believed carnelian could assist one’s passage to the afterlife, and examples of it have been found numerous tombs. It is referred to in the book of Exodus as being a foundation stone of the New Jerusalem. Also known as cornelian, people are unable to agree on the derivation of its name, with some claiming it derives from ‘carnis’ meaning ‘flesh’, and others that it gets its name from the cornelian cherry.

Payment Policy

Payment Policy We require payment in full before goods can be dispatched, but you may order separate items over a maximum of 30 days and request a combined payment invoice when you are ready to pay.

Payment may be made via PayPal, by credit or debit card over the 'phone, by bank transfer (details on request) or by cheque. Please be aware that eCheques and personal cheques must have cleared before goods can be dispatched.

Returns Policy

1. If you wish to cancel an order:

(a) you can notify us by email to sales@gemzone.co.uk before we have despatched the goods, or

(b) where goods have already been despatched to you, by returning goods to us in accordance with (2) below:

2. You can return goods you have ordered from us for any reason at any time within 14 days of receipt for a full refund or exchange. The costs of returning goods to us shall be borne by you. Upon receipt of goods we will give you a full refund of the amount paid or an exchange credit as required.

3. The rights to return goods to us as referred to above will not apply in the following circumstances:

(a) In the event that the product has been used

(b) to any products that have been made or customised specifically for you

4. In the case of items arriving faulty or damaged, return postage costs will be refunded. Please return the product in its original packaging and return via the cheapest method, obtaining a certificate of posting.
